Portable Version 4.03 Released!

Finally you will be able to carry w.bloggar with you anywhere you go! Just download the portable version and unzip it to your USB pendrive.

To use your current settings and accounts with your portable w.bloggar just use the option "export accounts and settings" from the "File" menu and export the settings.xml file to the Data folder at your portable w.bloggar directory.

This version also comes with a small enhancement on the Recent Posts windows, two new buttons allows you to check/uncheck all posts.

Version 4.02 Released

Just one week and here we are again with w.bloggar new version. It's not only a bug fix release, it brings a great new feature long waited by the users (including myself) the File Upload using the blog API, so you don't have to configure any FTP settings to upload your images, now it's simply one click to upload. Currently the following tools and services supports this feature:

To use this new feature just click the Upload File button on the toolbar or press CTRL+D.

Version 4.01 Released

As promised last thursday, w.bloggar v4.01 is now released with UTF-8 support and working with Blogger.com again, however I have to inform to Blogger.com users that Google has disabled the 2.0 API so post titles is not available. I will be working to implement the new Google Data API so you will not only be able to post with titles but with all new Blogger.com features, for example tags.

To enable UTF-8 support just edit your Account Options (press F10) and mark the UTF-8 checkbox.

How to Post to Blogger and Finally UTF-8 Version!

Dear Users,

I'm not dead, as you can notice, neither this project!!

I finally discovered a way to fix the problem posting to Blogger blogs, thank's to Santosh Mishra from India.

He discovered that Google has not closed the API running on beta.blogger.com server so please follow his instructions for a new account or simply :

1) Click on your account name on the status bar
2) Change Blog Tool to "(Custom)"
3) Change Host to: beta.blogger.com
4) Click OK

I will release until sunday (21-oct) a new version of w.bloggar with (finally) UTF-8 support, and will correct the cms.ini to point Blogger to the beta.blogger.com server.

w.bloggar site rebirths (again!)

Well, as you may have noticed, this site was offline for a couple of several weeks, but once troubles are now behind us, let's leave it on the past.
Now we are happy to announce that we got another partnership that kindly donated this new hosting space at a great provider named Kabarty.com, thank's to our fellow friends from DearDiary.Net.

The forum is still offline until we can find a secure software to host it, because phpBB got me big troubles twice, that's enougth.

I'm working on a new minor release to improve Drupal support and to fix some pending issues, stay tuned!

Preview is showing strange images?

Some users are reporting an issue with preview feature. A gray image is appearing at the bottom of preview. It's happening because the sample value of "Stylesheet Tag (CSS)" at "Blog Properties" (F2) window refer's to: http://www.yoursite.com/yourfile.css that suppose to be "ficticious", but it now actually exists, so you'll have to clean up the "Stylesheet Tag (CSS)" field or put there your actual css file (local or remote).

I'll make a new release with this small issue fixed.

Even more news!

Two more things to announce:

 The Users Forum is back online. I decided to restart it because we got hacking problems thru the forum last year, so everybody will have to register again. sorry for that.

 You have now an option to install the Mozilla version of w.bloggar. It uses a Mozilla based browser on Preview Post feature instead of Internet Explorer. To acomplish this it requires Mozilla ActiveX Control that is installed during w.bloggar setup. If the setup ask you to uninstall the current installed version of w.bloggar, click cancel and backup your accounts and settings (thru the File menu option) and then proceed the installation and restore your settings from the "Add Account" wizard.
